N70 Hilux Front 05-14

A White Toyota Hilux Truck with A Flatbed Tray — Ironhide Customs In Garbutt, QLD

If choosing stage 1 kit, you will also need the following –

  • VDJ 79 series 1, adjustable panhard. (superior engineering)
  • HZJ80 drag link, adjustable. (superior engineering)
  • EFS coils to suit VDJ79 series 1. Standard coils give approx. 2 inches lift. 30mm lift give approx. 3 inch lift. (if using coil with shock, not coilover)
  • Shock absorbers to suit VDJ79, 3 to 4 inch lift. (GU patrol shocks also work at 4 inch lift) (if using coil with shock, not coilover)
  • VDJ79 series 1 steering dampener with drag link mount.
  • HZJ80 series, complete front axle, with diff center. 92 – 98 model (all are 4.11 ratio) This front diff can either be used in factory orientation if using KZN transfer case swap. Or will need to be flipped to suit KUN transfer. This can be completed with all new mounts for approx. $1500 by Ironhide Customs.

Engineering and certification considerations as follows –

  • Turning circle can be completely adjusted and maintained to factory hilux specifications.
  • Factory power steering pump maintains 80 to 125 PSI required for landcruiser 80 series steering box.
  • Factory Hilux brake caliper specs. 4 pots @42mm diameter pistons. Rotors are 27mm thick, 290mm diameter.
  • Landcruiser 80 series caliper specs. 4 pots @45mm. With a 0.2 mm rotor deflection you can expect 0.16 ml increased fluid usage per pot equaling 1.28ml across all 8 pots. This amount of fluid is easily attainable in the Colorado/dmax 1’’ diameter brake master cylinder. Rotors are 32mm thick, 311mm diameter.
  • Factory ABS sensors maintained. Tone rings are 48 tooth to match factory count.
  • Front axle load for Hilux is 1300kg.  Landcruiser 80 series is rated to 1550kg to attain GVM increase of 10 percent when coupled with heavier duty rear suspension.
