If choosing stage 1 kit, you will also need the following –

  • HZJ80 series, adjustable panhard. (superior engineering
  • HZJ80 drag link, adjustable. (superior engineering)
  • EFS coils to suit VDJ79 series 1. Standard coils give approx. 2 inches lift. 30mm lift give approx. 3 inch lift. (if using coil with shock, not coilover)
  • Shock absorbers to suit VDJ79, 3 to 4 inch lift. (GU patrol shocks also work at 4 inch lift) (if using coil with shock, not coilover)
  • VDJ79 series 1 steering dampener with bracket to drag link
  • HZJ80 series, complete front axle, with diff center. 92 – 98 model (all are 4.11 ratio)

Engineering and certification considerations as follows –

  • Turning circle can be completely adjusted and maintained to factory Colorado/Dmax specifications.
  • Factory power steering pump maintains 80 to 125 PSI required for landcruiser 80 series steering box.
  • Factory Colorado/Dmax brake caliper specs. 4 pots @40mm diameter pistons. Rotors are 27mm thick, 286mm diameter.
  • Landcruiser 80 series caliper specs. 4 pots @45mm. With a 0.2 mm rotor deflection you can expect 0.32 ml increased fluid usage per pot equaling 2.56ml across all 8 pots. This amount of fluid is easily attainable in the Colorado/dmax 1’’ diameter brake master cylinder. Rotors are 32mm thick, 311mm diameter.
  • Factory ABS sensors maintained. Tone rings are 38 tooth to match factory count.
  • Front axle load for Colorado/Dmax is 1300kg.  Landcruiser 80 series is above this rating to attain GVM increase of 10 percent when coupled with heavier duty rear suspension.
